About 100 Ryanair travellers mutinied over luggage costs, causing all 166 travellers being escorted off of the airline by armed law enforcement officials.

A large group of students complained to cabin staff when a companion of theirs was banned from the airline flight for refusing to pay a levy for excess baggage at the gate.

Law enforcement were called to the area, at Lanzarote runway,in the Canary Islandsonce the university students aboard began to demonstration and won’t take their seats.
Everyone was ordered off the plane, waiting to fly to Charleroi airport in Brussels, by officers from the Civil Guard.

The 66 travellers who were not associated with the protest endured a three-hour delay and the 100 college students who started the protest were later on refused to fly through the budget airline.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Lanzarote said: “The protest was peaceful and no arrests were made.”
Ryanair said the number of protesters had “become troublesome and refused to comply with crew guidelines after we required payment of a gate bag fee for outsize luggage.”
